Qualification: B.A., Ll.B.
Russell was admitted in 1987. Before joining WB&I Inc in 2004, he practised as a senior partner in the firm of Laing Frank and MacDonald, which he co-founded. He is involved in all areas of civil litigation and arbitration with a particular emphasis on contract and construction law and on professional indemnity insurance.
Russell has handled some significant contractual damages claims, including the largest to come before this country's courts.
As part of a mentorship programme he has mentored numerous young lawyers with difficult indemnity insurance matters. Russell serves on the company's Executive Committee.
He has an avid interest in jazz music.
He is married to Felicity and they have two daughters.
