Heritage

• Founded in 1922 by Thomas Woodhead, the practice built a strong reputation in the fields of business, commercial and property law, and in the sphere of specialised High Court litigation, including marine and insurance law
• Huntly Bigby joined Woodhead in 1946, and served as Senior Partner from Woodhead's retirement until 1987. His son, Scott, became a partner in 1984 and is the current Financial Director
• Bedver Irving joined the practice in 1972 and was appointed Senior Partner in 1987. He is the current Managing Director, the practice having incorporated as a company on 1 May 2000
• The Durban office of WB&I Inc has occupied the same premises in central Durban for more than 60 years and has been a member of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 51 years
• WB&I Inc also has offices on La Lucia Ridge and in Pietermaritzburg through Ngcobo Irving Inc
